Sulfuric acid(American spelling and the preferred IUPAC name) or sulphuric acid(Commonwealth spelling), known in antiquity as oil of vitriol, is amineral acid composed of the elements sulfur, oxygen and hydrogen, with the molecular formula H2SO4. It is a colorless, odorless and viscous liquid that is miscible with water.
USES:
The major use for sulfuric acid is in the "wet method" for the production of phosphoric acid, used for manufacture of phosphate fertilizers. In this method, phosphate rock is used, and more than 100 million tonnes are processed annually. This raw material is shown below as fluorapatite, though the exact composition may vary. This is treated with 93% sulfuric acid to produce calcium sulfate, hydrogen fluoride(HF) and phosphoric acid. The HF is removed as hydrofluoric acid.
Capacity: 100 TPD to 500 TPD
